The history of Sport Lavit


The Sport Lavit brand has its origins in the Lavit brand, which was founded in 1956 by Sport Lavit GmbH in Viernheim. In the beginning, the company mainly produced and sold body, beauty and hair care products. The first products included tonic and Duschfit.
At that time, these products were mainly sold to hairdressing salons. They used the products to cool and refresh the neck and forehead and to wash the hair. In the 1970s, the brand was even advertised on German television.

The Lavit brand was relaunched in 1981. The brand name was changed from Lavit to Sport Lavit and has been legally protected ever since. The relaunch not only changed the brand name, but also revised and expanded the product range. Cosmetic bath additives were added. Since then, the products have been sold exclusively under the Sport Lavit brand. Even today, after 65 years, Tonic and Duschfit are still among the top sellers and are an integral part of the range. Today, the Sport Lavit brand range comprises around 27 different products. The products range from warming to cooling to protective, so that every athlete can find the perfect support for their training in the range. The products are available from sports retailers and pharmacies, among others.
Sport Lavit has been an official partner of the German Athletics Association since 2017. This means that the brand and its products are represented at major athletics events at national level. The Sport Lavit brand became internationally recognised through the invention of the free-kick spray. Nationally, it is used in the first, second and third Bundesliga football leagues. Internationally, it ensures excitement on the pitch at various FIFA tournaments worldwide.
